Jas Johal   |   Former Member of the Legislative Assembly of Canada & Radio Host, Global BC

Jas Johal

Speaker Bio

A veteran journalist with over two decades of experience, Johal started his career with 980 CKNW in 1991 before joining BCTV in 1994. In his role as Senior Reporter, he covered a wide range of stories . He became the BC Correspondent for Global National in 2005. Johal was later appointed Global News’ Asia Bureau Chief in 2008. Based in Beijing, he traveled extensively in China, he was also based in New Delhi, India, where he covered major stories throughout the region.

In 2017, Johal was elected MLA for Richmond-Queensborough. He is also the recipient of numerous awards from the Jack Webster Foundation and Radio Television Digital News Association. In 2019 and 2020, Vancouver Magazine included him in its Power 50 list of residents shaping the city.

Amanda Farrell   |   CEO, TI Corp

Amanda Farrell is the Chief Executive Officer at Transportation Investment Corporation (TI Corp). She took on this role in December 2018 to lead the management and delivery of major infrastructure projects, including the Pattullo Bridge Replacement, the Kicking Horse Canyon Project – Phase 4 and the Broadway Subway Project. Since that time, TI Corp’s portfolio has expanded to include the Highway 99 Tunnel Program (including the new Steveston Interchange), and the Surrey Langley SkyTrain Project.

Prior to TI Corp, Amanda served as the President and Chief Executive Officer at Partnerships BC (now named Infrastructure BC) for five years. Her focus was strengthening relationships with clients and contractors to develop major public infrastructure projects from hospitals and courthouses to transit lines. She also served as the Chief Project Officer in the now completed Evergreen SkyTrain Line in Vancouver.”

Melissa Holland   |   Vice President, BC Hydro

Melissa Holland is the Vice President of Project Delivery with BC Hydro. The group is responsible for managing approximately $22 billion worth of projects for dam safety, generation and transmission stations, lines, telecom and interconnection projects ranging in size from approximately $1M to $1B.

Melissa has 22+ years of experience in the energy and utilities sector including strategy, regulatory, environmental assessment, aboriginal consultation, project and program management, large capital project development and contractor claims defence. She believes how we work and communicate is as important as what we work on.

Mark Liedemann   |   President & CEO, Infrastructure BC

Mark Liedemann has been part of the executive team at Infrastructure BC since 2016 and took on the role of President and CEO in December 2018. In this role, Mark leads the management team responsible for the planning, procurement and implementation of large and complex infrastructure projects in B.C. and throughout Canada. Key responsibilities include corporate strategy as well as shareholder and stakeholder relations.

Mark is committed to developing all of his colleagues at Infrastructure BC and fostering their success by establishing a culture that allows for growth and learning in a knowledge-based workplace. Mark is also committed to lifelong learning, models excellence and integrity and expects the same from others.

Kevin Quinn   |   CEO, Translink BC

Kevin Quinn is the Chief Executive Officer of TransLink, Metro Vancouver’s award-winning transportation authority. As CEO, Kevin oversees the management, planning, finance, and the growth and delivery of bus services, SkyTrain, SeaBus, HandyDART, and West Coast Express transit services, as well as cycling and walking infrastructure, five bridges, and the Major Road Network.

Under Kevin’s leadership, TransLink has released several plans that shape the future of transportation in the region, all while putting sustainability, reconciliation, and inclusion at the forefront. Kevin also serves on the board of directors for the American Public Transportation Association and is a member of the Presidents Group, a group of executives championing accessible and inclusive workplaces.

Cliff Stewart   |   Vice President, Infrastructure, Vancouver Fraser Port Authority

Speaker Bio

In his role as vice president, infrastructure, Cliff Stewart leads the development and delivery of the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority’s infrastructure programs, which include road, rail, terminal and facility projects, and associated habitat restoration. He is also responsible for the engineering and maintenance functions of the Port Authority and serves as the president of Canada Place Corporation.

Throughout his tenure at the port authority, Cliff has been instrumental in building the organization’s internal infrastructure team and leading the development of large scale, trade-enabling projects—both at the Port of Vancouver and throughout the Lower Mainland—designed to support the port authority’s federal mandate to enable Canada’s trade through the Port of Vancouver. This includes the realignment of Low Level Road in North Vancouver, the expansion of the Centerm container terminal in Burrard Inlet, and building the Tsawwassen Container Examination Facility on Tsawwassen First Nation industrial land. Early in his time at the port authority, Cliff was involved in drafting the project definition report for the Roberts Bank Terminal 2 Project. He then led the team that obtained the Environmental Assessment approval for the project in 2023.

Keith Baldrey is an insightful speaker and panelist on BC current events and politics. He serves as the chief political correspondent and legislative bureau chief for Global BC where he provides insightful coverage and analysis on the latest developments in BC’s political landscape. In 2021, Baldrey was named Broadcast Performer of the Year by the BC Association of Broadcasters
